Duration of Package 2 and certification

Our G2 Testing and Training package available at https://www.youngstardrivers.com/. Congratulations on obtaining your G1 license. We would be delighted to assist you in your driver training journey.

Regarding your inquiry about the duration of the course, the MTO Certification Package PKG-2 typically takes an average of 4-6 weeks to complete. However, the duration of the course can vary depending on your progress and availability.

We usually recommend that learners complete the online and in-car components side by side to ensure comprehensive learning. Although there is no restriction from the MTO to complete the online course first, we prefer this approach.

Based on your timeline, you would be looking to take the Road Test sometime in January/February, which is approximately 8 months from now. This should provide ample time to complete the PKG-2 course. Please note that after the completion of MTO certification, you will be eligible to book your road test four months earlier than the standard waiting period.

Regarding the driving center for the Road Test, we book with the nearest DriveTest center to your location. Therefore, we will book the Toronto Metro East Drive Test Center for your road test.

We would be delighted to work with you to create a customized schedule that suits your availability. To move forward, please provide your availability for the next two weeks, and we will assign an in-car trainer to conduct the in-car training sessions at the earliest available times.

For comprehensive information on driving in Ontario as a visitor, please visit the official Ontario Government website. To ensure you receive the most accurate and up-to-date information, we also advise visiting a local DriveTest center. It’s important to be aware that, under current policies, license exchanges for visitors may not be permitted in Ontario.

Follow these steps to exchange your Qatar driving license:

  1. Visit a Drive Test Center: Bring your passport, Landing Paper (if applicable), Qatar driving license, and any international driving permits or related documents.
  2. Pass the Knowledge Test: Successfully passing this test awards you a G1 License.
  3. Schedule a G-2/G Test Preparation Session: Email us at info@youngstardrivers.com with your availability for a G-2/G test preparation session.
  4. Attend the Preparation Session: A top instructor will guide you through the session according to MTO standards. A two-hour session is recommended.

Please note, your ability to adapt to driving skills influences the process. We are a driving school, not a testing center. For G1, G2, or G tests, please visit a Drive Test center.
