G1 Knowledge Test – Step-by-Step Guide

To obtain your G1 License in Ontario, you must pass the G1 Knowledge Test at an authorized Drive Test Center. Below are the essential details to help you prepare.

Required Documents

Visit your nearest Drive Test Center with any TWO of the following valid photo IDs:

  • Ontario-issued Photo ID (excluding Health Card)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Canadian Citizenship Card
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Passport from the Country of Origin
  • Landing/Immigration Paper
  • All existing driving licenses and related documents

G1 Test Fees Breakdown

The total fee of $159.75 must be paid at the Drive Test Center:

  • G1 Knowledge Test Fee: $16
  • G2 Road Test Fee: $53.75
  • Five-Year License Fee: $90
